Mr And Mrs Meredith - Bungalow redevelopment

After a recent family bereavement, we decided to downsize to a smaller bungalow, with a more manageable garden. As I work for a high end luxury property developer, it was an opportunity of a lifetime, to design and completely refurbish a very run down property. 

After having discussions with 4 local builders, none of which left us with much confidence, we approached Ram Homes. As the development was almost a total rebuilt, my main issue was to ensure that the work undertaken, was to be of the highest standard. After our initial meeting with Carl and Maurice, and viewing together the quality we wished to achieve,  we felt confident that we had found a builder who could build our dream home.

We have no hesitation in recommending Ram Homes, there work is of a very high standard, and Carl has a particular high work ethic, which is hard to find in this industry. We had numerous layout changes to bathrooms and en-suites,door positioning to ensure the flow worked, and Carl was eager to help us with every aspect, and we bounced ideas off one another, which he very much appreciated, and was willing to entertain.

It is also a very valid note to add, the site was kept very clean, and well organised,  and noise levels were kept to a minimum for our neighbours, which is a consideration most builders ignore.

We now have our fabulous new bungalow, and it has turned out exceeding our highest expectations. We would welcome anyone, if they wished to visit to see the end product, and would like to thank them, and the team, for our all their hard work. I know they were dealing with a very demanding client.

"Wanting more home space, as I’m sure so many of us wish for, my wife and I decided to extend the current family home opposed to the alternative of moving to find the space we sought.

Financially this was the sensible and much more economical way of achieving our goal, however this bought with it an even bigger decision in my mind, we had to choose the builders. Like many of us I’m a keen watcher of programs such as “Cowboy Builders” so this was a decision that put the fear of God through me.

After seeing 4 building companies my concerns were still very present and if anything growing, I was unhappy with all 4 companies for different reasons. A recent extension on a house close to my children’s school had caught my attention, it had seemed to go up quickly with very little mess made. After a cheeky conversation with the home owners we were put onto RAM Homes. We met with Maurice & Carl and we instantly felt comfortable and at ease with them. We checked references, saw some previous projects they had undertaken and were even asked if we would like to see the projects they were currently involved with, which of course we did…. Unannounced !

To our delight we could not fault the guys, or anything they had said to us, we had found our professionals and I truly mean that. RAM were so inventive with their ideas and suggestions, they were always professional, and you wouldn’t believe how tidy the house was kept throughout the day, we needed reminding that we were actually having some extension work. Eventually we requested RAM to take on a couple of other small projects for us, which they carried out with the same degree of confidence & excellence.

There were little in the way of any issues during the build, and any slight glitch would be quickly addressed and dealt with by RAM. They always remained focused and continually throughout came up with money saving or design ideas.

I’ve got to say in Summary the guys at RAM Homes have changed my opinion on what I had always thought was a potentially shady industry. RAM have shown they possess true family values, they are honest, completely trustworthy and Ultra reliable. I have no shadow of doubt in recommending the services RAM offer, but don’t just take my word for it, try them out for yourselves."

Ram homes were recommended to us by our architect to build our two storey extension, he had worked with them on a number of projects including his own home. 

Our extension was completed to a very high standard with great attention to detail, we were thrilled with the end result! Carl, Maurice and their team were professional, reliable and prompt. We were kept well informed throughout the progress, and the site was kept clean and tidy.
