About

We are as passionate about our business as we are about your build, and it shows.

RAM Homes was founded in YEAR 1983 by Maurice hickey, who’S NOW RETIRED. RAM HOMES NOW BEEN LOOKED AFTER BY MAURICE’S SON CARL WHO WORKS IN COMPANY FOR MORE THEN 20 YEARS. CARL takes an active role in meeting new clients and overseeing individual projects. He remains the contact point for clients ensuring customer service is second to none.

RAM Homes have been established for nearly 40 years, and has gained recognition in and around Surrey for their superior work. We offer competitive prices coupled with outstanding workmanship from qualified builders and plumbers, exactly what you would expect from an established building company.

Through dedication, commitment and sheer hardwork, the company has grown considerably since it was formed in the 80's. Today RAM Homes is big enough to cope with the most complex projects, yet small enough to offer a truly personal service to all our clients.

As well as offering loft conversions and house extensions from qualified builders and plumbers, we offer our services to both Corporate and residential customers, allowing us to continually improve and gain new experiences, and stay ahead of our competition.

When you call the builders in to build a new property or to add an extension to an existing one, you want the highest quality. The same is true when it comes to all of the fixtures and fittings. From windows and doors, as well as conservatories RAM Homes ensure materials are not only long lasting but also of the highest standard.

FAQs

FAQs

  • How long will the project/build take?
Each project is bespoke but we will give you a full breakdown on timings with our quote. As a rough ballpark a single storey extension takes 6-8 weeks, a double storey extension 8-10 weeks.

  • Do I need to vacate my property during the work?
Not always but if it is a large job it is favourable to move out as the job can be completed a lot quicker.

  • How do I do the initial drawings?
You can contact us and we can recommend an architect.

  • How do I obtain planning permission?
You or your architect should contact your local planning office. We are also on hand to give advice on this matter.

  • Do you provide structural plans and calculations?
We can do if needed but sometimes the architect will get this done for you.

  • Do you liaise with building control inspectors?
    Yes we do.

  • Do I need a party wall agreement?
Not unless you are on an adjoining property. If you are then yes you do.

  • Do I need to inform my neighbours of the nature and length of the works?
Out of courtesy we would always advise this so they are aware of any noise or work disruptions. We would always keep these to a minimum where possible.
